Refund and Returns Policy

If you are unsatisfied with our services or products, this policy explains how to request a refund or return.


Scope

This policy covers TechSteps services and digital products, including coaching, consulting, subscription site care, campaign systems, one-time implementation projects, and courses. Physical goods (if offered) are covered below under Physical Products.

General Principles

  • We aim to be fair and transparent. If something isn’t right, please contact us so we can make it right.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method unless we agree otherwise.
  • Where applicable, fees for work already delivered or third-party costs we’ve incurred may be deducted.

Subscriptions (SiteCare, Campaign System, Coaching)

  • Billing cycle: Monthly, in advance.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel any time before your next renewal date. Service continues through the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds: We don’t offer prorated refunds for the current billing period after work has begun. If you believe there’s been an error, contact us within 7 days of the charge.
  • Minimum terms: If your plan includes a minimum term (e.g., 12-month SiteCare), cancelling early may require paying the remaining balance or a defined early termination fee as specified in your agreement.

One-Time Projects (e.g., SiteCare Launch, Shopify Build, Implementations)

  • Deposits/retainers: Generally non-refundable once discovery or production has started.
  • Milestone billing: If you cancel mid-project, you’re responsible for work completed to date, including any committed third-party costs (themes, apps, licenses, etc.).
  • Project pause: We can pause a project for up to 60 days upon request. After that, a restart fee may apply to reschedule resources.

Coaching Sessions

  • Rescheduling: Please give at least 24 hours notice. We’ll find a new time.
  • No-shows/late cancellations: Sessions missed without notice or cancelled within 24 hours are considered used.
  • Refunds: Unused, prepaid sessions can be refunded within 14 days of purchase; used sessions are not refundable.

Digital Products & Courses

  • Refund window: 14 days from purchase if you’re not satisfied and you’ve completed less than 25% of the course content (as recorded by our platform).
  • Exclusions: Downloads/templates delivered in full and clearly marked as non-refundable are not eligible.

Physical Products (if applicable)

  • Return window: 30 days from delivery in new, unused condition with original packaging.
  • Process: Contact us for an RMA and return address. You’re responsible for return shipping unless the item was defective or incorrect.
  • Inspection: Refunds are issued after we receive and inspect the item.

How to Request a Refund or Return

Contact us with your order details and a brief summary of the issue:

Please include: your name, purchase date, product or service, and any relevant links or files. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

Processing Time

Approved refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the credit.

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback, we may suspend services while we investigate. We encourage you to contact us first so we can resolve the issue promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or applicable laws. Updates will appear on this page with a revised date.
