• After the 12-month minimum on a subscription, do I keep paying?

  Yes. Your plan switches to month-to-month after 12 months. You can cancel any time after that. Staying on the plan keeps your site managed, secure, and updated — so you don’t have to think about hosting, backups, fixes, or content changes. (Note: with subscription sites, TechSteps retains website ownership; see the cancellation policy below for what you keep.)

• Can I buy out my subscription once the minimum is over?

  No. Subscriptions don’t convert to a lump-sum “buyout.” If you want a site you own outright from day one, choose SiteCare Launch (one-time build) or Shopify Build for e-commerce. Subscriptions are built for ongoing service and continuous improvements rather than a transfer of ownership.

• Can I add unlimited edits and support to a one-time build?

  SiteCare Launch includes monthly support. If you expect frequent changes, you have two options:

  • Move to SiteCare Monthly ($179/mo) for unlimited site updates and full management, or

  • Add a support add-on (12-month minimum) if you prefer to keep the one-time build structure. Ask us for the current add-on options and pricing.

• What’s the difference between a subscription and a one-time build?

  • Subscription (SiteCare Monthly): Low monthly cost, 12-month minimum, unlimited updates, ongoing management. Best if you want a team to keep your site current and improve it over time.

  • One-time build (SiteCare Launch): Higher upfront, you own the site, plus a small monthly fee for hosting/infrastructure ($25/mo). Best if you want to pay once and keep ownership from day one.
    Choose based on cash flow and how much ongoing help you want.

• Is SEO included?

  We include on-page SEO fundamentals in every build: technical setup, fast load times, accessibility best practices, sitemap generation, meta tags, and Google Search Console. Ongoing/off-page SEO (link building, content campaigns, citations, etc.) is not part of the base packages. If you want an SEO program, we’ll connect you with a trusted partner or add a plan that fits your goals.

• Do you offer e-commerce sites under the subscription plan?

  No. E-commerce projects are larger in scope and run as Shopify Build engagements (from $7,995). If you’re on a subscription and decide to add a store later, we can scope a Shopify Build and integrate it with your existing systems.

• If I cancel a subscription, do I keep my domain?

  Yes. Your domain is yours — you own it and keep it. When you cancel a subscription, hosting and site management stop, and the website itself (design and build) remains TechSteps’ property. If you want a site you own, choose SiteCare Launch or talk to us about options before canceling.

• How long does a subscription last?

  Subscriptions have a 12-month minimum. After that, they continue month-to-month until you cancel. Staying on the plan keeps your site hosted, secure, updated, and supported — so you can focus on your business instead of tech upkeep. If you cancel, the website design and build remain TechSteps’ property. If you want to own your site outright, choose SiteCare Launch or Shopify Build.

• What happens if I cancel after 12 months and want to return?

  You can return at any time. We’ll set you up with a new 12-month agreement so you get the same level of support and management from day one.

• What if I cancel before the 12-month minimum is over?

  If you cancel early, you’ll owe the full one-time value of the site ($3,795) minus what you’ve already paid. This protects the time, resources, and upfront work we invest in your project while keeping pricing fair for clients who complete their term.

• How do you handle late payments?

  Invoices have a 7-day grace period. After that, a $25 late fee is applied. If multiple payments are missed without communication, we may pause your service or cancel the plan, and you’ll be responsible for the site’s full value. We’re flexible when life happens — just let us know so we can work with you.

• What payment methods do you accept?

  • Subscriptions: Paid monthly via credit or debit card; all major cards accepted.

  • One-time builds: Paid via ACH bank transfer to keep processing costs low.

  • Invoices: Sent by email with a secure payment link.
    We do not accept checks or money orders.

• Is the $99 per additional page fee monthly or one-time?

  It’s a one-time fee. For example, three extra pages would cost $297 in total.

• Do you offer refunds?

  If we can’t deliver a design you’re happy with and you decide not to move forward, we’ll refund your deposit. Once we begin building your site, all payments are non-refundable. Any exceptions after that point are at our discretion.
